Writing award deadlines approaching: great oppourtunity to earn credibility and cash!

10 Apr

Check out the English Department undergraduate writing awards for Spring 2013.

Submissions due Friday, April 12th by 4 p.m. to the English Department office. There are cash prizes for several categories including best paper by both a first-year and upper-level student and the Mary Louise White book scholarship that asks students to answer one of the following questions:

  • If you were given $200 to spend on books that were not for school, what would
    they be and why?
  • Describe how and why a particular book changed your perspective.

Upperclassmen are encouraged to apply for Laura D. Foster 1929 Graduates’ Fund Award with examples of excellence in the study of literature (preference given to the romantic period!). An award exists specifically for those going on to graduate school next year, so graduating seniors need not feel left out!

Supporters of the English Department have provided us with amazing opportunities to celebrate the writing and research being done on an undergraduate level, so take full advantage and submit your best work!
